FoodMinds, a division of Padilla, is seeking to hire NEXTerns to work in our Chicago and Washington, DC offices.

FoodMinds is an award-winning food and nutrition communications and consulting company that harnesses science, public affairs, communications and food values to help its clients tell a better story that makes a difference. FoodMinds provides strategic consulting to a wide-variety of private and public clients in the food, nutrition, health, and wellness space. Assignments can range from researching the latest food and nutrition trends and analyzing them based on a client’s business objectives, to developing educational materials, to pitching food and nutrition media. Some projects may be international in scope.

Responsibilities

  • Assist accounts with day-to-day requests; working closely with a team that includes nearly 20 RDs/PhDs
  • Monitor the food and nutrition landscape for breaking news/research and relevant updates (via social media, e-alerts)
  • Research leading programs and policies in food, nutrition and sustainability
  • Work closely with the strategic insights team to translate nutrition, health and wellness data and summarize into key findings and reports
  • Assist in the development of health professional-focused content and communications
  • Conduct recipe/nutrition analysis (using Food Processor)
  • Attend meetings/webinars and author summary reports

Requirements

  • Preferred applicants will have completed a bachelor’s degree with a focus in nutrition (e.g., dietetics), communications/marketing (with food and nutrition exposure), business or public policy (specific to food), or environmental sciences; additional credentials are encouraged; RD, MBA, MPH
  • Self-starter with comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative, matrixed environment
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills
