The right candidate will work with high-profile food brands providing counsel on the food and nutrition environment. Responsibilities include developing proactive communications and issues management plans that leverage a deep understanding of food and nutrition affairs.


The right candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 5+ years of PR/communications experience with an emphasis on food/nutrition. Registered dietitian credential and nutrition policy training strongly desired; agency experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes and how DC operates from a government and public policy perspective.
  • Have a strong ability to translate technical science and regulatory data and standards into client recommendations and communications materials for key opinion leaders, the media, and the public.
  • Proven experience managing and implementing strategic, health and nutrition-focused communications programs in the areas of nutrition policy, issues management, health influencer education and outreach and thought leader engagement.
  • Boast relationships with key people/organizations in the food, nutrition and policy space, including decision makers and thought leaders from government, trade associations, food and beverage companies, and the public health sector.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage internal and external client teams, consultants and budgets and can support multiple programs, delegate effectively and have an acute eye for detail.
  • Possess strong writing and verbal skills, including demonstrated experience delivering oral presentations.
  • Possess a client service-oriented mentality.
  • Comfortably function within a fast-paced working environment that requires juggling multiple projects and deadlines.
